The Eastern myth is that the two people connected by the red thread are destined lovers, regardless of place, time, or circumstances. This magical cord may stretch or tangle, but never break. This is similar to the Western concept of a soulmate or a destined partner.
However, I am not just talking about lovers or soulmates.
This is a little story about why I named my brand Red Thread. My godmother adopted a baby girl from China and raised her with her husband. I distinctly remember a black and white photo they took of all of them holding onto a red ribbon together, which was the only thing in color. It was a beautiful photo that reflects their beautiful connection to one another. Sadly, my godmother passed away from cancer when I was just starting college. I wanted a way to do something that would reflect how she supported me and the other people who have made an impact on my life. She was a believer in this connection to others and fate. No matter where life takes us, there is a red thread of fate that connects us to the ones we love and the things that we are meant to do. No matter what.
